Tell them that it’s human nature.

So, everyone’s stopped updating their Facebook statuses about it. CNN has moved on to other news. MTV has resumed its regular screening of non music videos.

This one thought is lodged in my head, “Why only now?” Why didn’t everyone sell-out his albums a week before? (Anyway, who the hell doesn’t already have his albums?) Why didn’t they ever run the marathon of his music videos before? Butter Factory even played Black or White last Friday. Good grief, Black or White?! Of all bloody songs to play at a club – talk about a cheap attempt to jump on the Grief Bandwagon.

It’s always been the way of the world for someone to be over-appreciate posthumously (case in point: Heath Ledger. All of a sudden, he became this brilliant actor, dark, deep actor but everyone seems to have forgotten he acted in 10 Things I Hate About You. Great movie.) But what really bugs me about this sudden flooding of adoration would be that this was the very same world, formats, platforms that abandoned him. The ones that mocked him and teased him. Why is he wearing pajamas? What’s with Bubbles? Not another child? Those aren’t his kids! I only hope that he had known that he was always there, under layers of insults and heckling.

I can honestly say that I have never given a shit about any of that. Talent is talent, is talent. Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough is my Number One “get me on the dance floor” song. Who cares what he does in his personal life and how he achieves self gratification?

It’s a flagrant hypocrisy that everyone has embraced with convenient selective memory.

If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change.
